Roskilde Camping

Zealand

Beautifully situated on the fjord-side, 4km north of the Viking Ship Museum, this very extensive, three-star camping ground has many family facilities and is set back from a wide grassy foreshore distantly overlooking Roskilde across a stone-and-sand beach.

Two attractive new 'apartments' share this view but another seven hostel-esque rooms are hidden behind the cafe off a terrace perfumed with chip-fat. Note that if rooms or cabins aren't left spick and span, guests will incur a hefty 350kr cleaning charge.

To get here by bus take the 203 from Roskilde station or Daebrødrevej to Veddelev Bygade (24kr, 20 minutes), backtrack 50m and then walk around 250m west. Nearby Veddelev village is a gem, full of lovely old thatched cottages.
