Hotel Hillerød

Zealand

Comfortable if functional, this 113-room business hotel lies some 2km south of the castle in an area of faceless 21st-century low-rise offices and light industrial buildings. It has the odd feel of being in a large greenhouse with sparse creeper plants trailing up what look like container boxes but are actually the protrusions of the en-suite bathrooms.

The restaurant might not look much but it has a reputation for culinary excellence. Bus 305 stops nearby.
