Midtfyns Bryghus

Top choice in Odense

Some of Funen's best and most imaginative beers, including a stupendous 9.5% imperial stout, are brewed 10km south of Odense at Midtfyns Bryghus. It also produces a range of SMaSH (single malt, single hop) pale ales, oddities flavoured with snuff and ginger-wasabi, and a remarkably successful chilli tripel (a strong pale ale) with subtly spicy after-burn. Call ahead for opening hours.

The brewery has a shop and will do 225kr seven-beer tasting 'performances' by arrangement. US-born owner Eddie also does occasional standup beer-comedy shows.
