Hotel Danmark

Top choice in Copenhagen

The revamped Danmark is a svelte boutique hideaway steps away from major sights. Though most of its 88 rooms are rather petite, they're all flawlessly chic and ensconcing, with heavenly beds, tactile fabrics and restrained, elegant Danish furniture. Interestingly, the muted colour accents – which range from sage green to cobalt blue – are inspired by the nearby Thorvaldsen Museum.

The hotel's entry-level bunk-bed rooms offer the same luxe style and amenities featured in higher-category rooms, and the optional breakfast (198kr, half-price for children) is delicious and mostly organic. Extra perks include complimentary evening wine and a rooftop terrace. Rooms are generally cheaper on weekends. On-site parking costs 215kr per day.
