If there's one thing this country isn't short of, it's wood, and in days gone by almost evey household item was made of pine, spruce, beech or oak. That gentle tradition is brought to the tourist throngs courtesy of Amadea, whose craftsmen in northeast Bohemia create delicate jewellery, toys, chopping boards, Christmas decorations and heaps more, all from local dřevo (wood).
Much of what it stocks has a reassuringly chunky Czech feel – excellent souvenir material. There's another tiny branch in Zlatá ulička up at the castle.
