The first president of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios III, came from a humble background: this was the house of his father during his later life (he was a shepherd in his youth). Featuring a stone exterior with wood-shuttered windows and a solid oak door, original furniture and a traditional linos (grape press), this is one of the most atmospheric and historical agrotourism properties in the Troödos.
The bedrooms are simply furnished, but the kitchen and bathrooms have been tastefully updated to meet contemporary demands. The spacious outdoor stone terrace has an original stone-built oven. Sitting out here with just the birdsong for company, you really do feel that time has stood still.
