This large hotel is dripping with history, having played host to Greek, Egyptian and British royalty. Its appeal has faded somewhat over the years, although the old-world glamour still echoes in its sumptuous bar. There are two pools, a gym, a massage parlour and a sauna, and the rooms are fully equipped. It is frequented by wealthy Cypriots.
One of the hotel's more quaint claims to fame is that the brandy sour was invented here.
