This 18th-century mansion has been lovingly converted into an intimate hotel brimming with idiosyncratic style. The foyer is dressed with 'Louis Farouk'-style furnishings and oversized Indonesian antique chairs with carved animal-shaped armrests. In the rooms, things do calm down a tad; expect original stone wall accents and wood-beam rafters, Turkish carpets and gilt-edged mirrors.
Although it won't be to everyone's taste, there's no denying that this is by far the most unique place to stay in Kyrenia. Light sleepers should note that it is next door to the mosque which means an early wake-up call with the call to prayer – pack earplugs.
