A little brutal from the outside but beautiful within, Miramar's Hotel Meliá Habana is one of the city's best-run and best-equipped accommodations options. The 409 rooms (some wheelchair accessible) are positioned around a salubrious lobby with abundant hanging vines, marble statues and extravagant water features. Outside, Cuba's largest and most attractive swimming pool lies next to a desolate, rocky shore.
The polite service and excellent buffet restaurant round things off. Ignore the inflated rack rates and look online for better deals.
