Café Suiza

Habana Vieja

Don’t expect fondue and chocolates. This quick-fire cafe on Habana Vieja’s main drag is named for one of the building’s former owners rather than the Swiss-ness of its food. The deep, windowless interior is overlooked by a long bar that serves up burgers, salads and fruity smoothies.

Settle down for an elongated pausa – the live band in the evening will perform even if there are only two customers.

No time to stop? A small booth out front overlooking Calle Obispo dispatches ice cream and irresistible tubs of tres leches cake.
