Now here's something really special. This beautiful sandstone compound, first built 370 years ago, is like an ancient caravanserai (inn) and is one of the westernmost monuments to civilian Islamic architecture in Europe. It opened as a splendidly restored hotel in 2015. The rooms, with stone walls and high ceilings, are warm and beautiful in an understated way.
There's a fabulous restaurant with locally sourced ingredients and a seasonal menu (mains from 80KN). Don't miss the small museum, showcasing the ruins of the ancient Turkish hammam (bathhouse).
The compound is just outside Vrana, west of Biograd Na Moru and off the northeastern tip of Vransko Lake.
