When Spličani are after a traditional feast of spit-roasted lamb they head for the hills – to Klis, to be exact. This roadside restaurant, founded in 1877, also serves omelettes, pasta, schnitzels and steaks, but skip straight to the 'Plata Perlica': a big smoky, fatty, garlicky heap of roast lamb, potatoes and vegetables. Combine it with a visit to Klis Fortress.
