There are life-sized plastic zebras in the dining room at this snazzy Escalante open-air restaurant. An extension of Saúl Mendez, the Guatemala-based empire of men's fashion, the restaurant is adorned with curious art, bubbling fountains and vertical gardens. It serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine, savory crepes, fine wines and exquisite cocktails.
Saúl's clothing stores dominate the suburbs, but the only bistro is here, in ever-edible Escalante.
