Mama Gui

Top choice in Playa Sámara

Sámara's best restaurant is this cozy, contemporary Italian spot that wouldn't be out of place in New York City. And go figure, owner/chef Gigio Palazzo has two sister restaurants there. Playful dishes include 'seacuterie' options like blow torch marlin sashimi, homemade pastas (go for the tagliatelle with red snapper) and sides of truffle parmesan patacones (fried plantains) and beetroot arugula ginger.

Cocktails are equally adventurous, with outrageously artful garnishes. Sadly, as of 2019 Gigio was aiming to sell the place, so ask around to make sure it's still great.
