Calala Lodge

Península de Nicoya

This sweet spot is a collection of spacious, stained-wood A-frame bungalows renovated in 2019 by a new set of owners to feature balconies, kitchenettes and enlarged windows. The grounds are decorated with artistic touches like coconut lamps and bamboo chandeliers, while the sun-dappled beach is gorgeous. Swimming isn't advised due to rocks, but the pool remains glorious.

A nice walk to Isla Cabuya at low tide begins about 500m south of here.
