Ming Jia Ju Teahouse

Hangzhou

Set alongside a beautiful park in the Santai Scenic Area, west of West Lake, this relaxed place with a lovely wooden canopy-covered outdoor seating area attracts locals looking to enjoy a cup of lóngjǐng green tea over a raucous game of mahjong. Tell the waitress you want to 'hē chá' (drink tea) and you'll be presented with a glass full of tea leaves and an insulated flask of water with which to top up your glass.

Reasonably priced Chinese dishes are also served. It's down a lane that runs parallel to Santai Shan Lu.
