Chini Bagh Royal Hotel

Kashgar

Immortalised in William Dalrymple’s travelogue In Xanadu and located on the grounds of the former British consulate, the Chini Bagh is today an upmarket place with spacious and stylish rooms that are nevertheless badly maintained and not particularly clean. On the plus side there are glass-walled bathrooms, fridges, safes and good city views as well as excellent discounts available.

The lesser buildings (of which there are three) offer a variety of cheaper and older accommodation in Star Trek Soviet buildings. Visit the Chinese restaurant behind the north block to see the old consulate building.
