Commune by the Great Wall

The Great Wall

Beside the Shuǐguān Great Wall off the Badaling Hwy, the Commune was heralded as an architectural marvel when it opened in the early noughties. These days the dozen modernist villas, each designed by a different architect, are showing their age, and service standards have slipped since Kempinski hotel group parted ways with the project.
