This traditionally styled, large and bright American-owned hostel has some of the most luxurious private rooms you could hope to find in a hostel, all with Tibetan accents. The bathrooms even have big wooden bathtubs. The four- and eight-bed dorms are equally impressive. Staff can organise treks and excursions in the area.
There's a big garden with a vegetable patch, trampoline and children's toys (it's very child-friendly here) and the sunny terrace cafe (open to non-guests) serves burgers, pizzas, steaks, loads of types of coffee and a super breakfast. There's even a book swap.
It's a short way north of the city centre in a quiet, traditional neighbourhood.
