Capturing the canalside Sūzhōu aesthetic, this 17th-century traditional courtyard building has well-kept gardens and 51 rooms bedecked in traditional furniture. Rooms at the pointy end are very nice suites with split-level living spaces; standard rooms are bit bashed and could do with new carpets. Staff speak (faltering) English.
