On the banks of Jinji Lake is one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Shaped like a crescent moon and bearing a striking nest-like facade that changes colour at night, this multi-venue arts centre regularly hosts performances of opera, music, dance and theatre, as well as touring exhibitions.
The grand theatre can seat an audience of 1200; performers from as far away as Germany, Spain and Ukraine have graced its stage. The centre also houses a nice cinema playing the latest Chinese and international releases, most of which are shown in the original English version with Chinese subtitles.
