This is a hub of Houhai Beach's surf scene and a great place to base yourself if you’re keen to learn and make friends. The guesthouse backs on to the sand, with a wonderful garden and pool area. The bar offers simple meals and a range of alcoholic drinks.
Rooms on the sea side have beautiful views, while the more expensive rooms have enormous balconies that are perfect for relaxing after a day's surfing. Instructors run intro lessons (¥800 for a 1½-hour lesson), and boards are available to rent.
