Known for its roasted pigeon (金牌乳鸽, jīnpái rǔgē), this traditional garden-restaurant is nestled inside Lìwān Lake Park (荔湾湖公园, Lìwān Hú Gōngyuán). You can reserve one of the six-seat dining boats for dinner: they’re inspired by zǐdòng chuán (紫洞船), aka ‘drinking boats’ used in the Qing dynasty by Xiguan merchants to entertain with lavish banquets, opera and prostitutes.
Note that you'll be charged a supplement (around ¥170 per person) if dining by boat.
