Beijing's most glamorous hotel, the Rosewood seduces with serene public spaces, innovative restaurants and guest rooms of designer furniture, arty curios, and floor-to-ceiling vistas of the iconic CCTV building. The isolated ring road location is a negative, but subway connections are good.
Dining at Rosewood is exceptional. Country Kitchen presents a posh take on northern Chinese grub such as roast lamb, noodles and Peking duck. There's also modish hotpot eatery Red Bowl, French restaurant Bistro B, Mei Bar for showy cocktails, and a swimming pool with a glass roof, lit by candles at night.
