In a historical area marred by overzealous redevelopment, the shiny new Beijing Fun complex at least preserves several fine Qing-era buildings within an open-air layout that encompasses shops, restaurants, street art, a vast Starbucks and a Muji Hotel (from the Japanese lifestyle brand). It's a handy place to relax and refuel after visiting Tian'anmen Sq.
