Housed in a pair of 17th- and 18th-century buildings built by the French and then the English, this very central inn in the heart of the Old Upper Town has some of the most dapper rooms around. Halls and the 20 guest rooms are done up in rich crimsons, navy blues and golds, and many rooms have exposed red-brick walls.
