You can’t get much more rural – or more peaceful – than this remote mountain lodge decorated with antler chandeliers and antique skis and snowshoes. Lodge rooms and family suites with balcony and sitting room overlook unspoiled meadows and a natural salt lick frequented by moose. Surrounding the lodge are cozy cabins and glamping tents sleeping two to four.
Lodge rates include four hearty meals, including a build-your-own lunch, afternoon tea and a gourmet dinner whipped up by a five-star chef. Look for the Mt Shark Rd turnoff on the west side of the Smith Dorrien/Spray Trail Rd, about 30km northwest of the Kananaskis Lakes or 40km south of Canmore.
