Les Sucreries de l’Érable

Eastern Townships

Best known for its scrumptious maple pies, this bakery in an attractive old brick-walled general store in central Frelighsburg does double duty as a simple restaurant. Breakfast treats include waffles with blueberries, bananas, crème fraîche and maple sugar, while lunch revolves around salads and sandwiches. Try a bagel topped with local maple-smoked salmon, accompanied by a glass of local cider.

Save room for fresh maple ice cream or – of course – maple pie. In summer it’s delightful to sit on the outdoor deck near the river out back.
