Red Shoe Pub

Top choice in Cape Breton Island

The Red Shoe is the place to catch a bit of Celtic music as you mosey down the Ceilidh Trail. The homey, ramshackle pub hosts at least one gig seven nights a week, from country crooners to folky fiddlers, and you can tuck into a menu of hot wings, fish-and-chips and homemade gingerbread as you listen.

The pub is run by the renowned Rankin Sisters, who hail from Mabou and whose Celtic-tinged music has scooped them numerous national awards; they often join in with the show.
