This seasonal farmers market is one of the city's most popular and is Kitsilano's best excuse to get out and hang with the locals. Arrive early for the best selection and you'll have the pick of freshly plucked local fruit and veg, such as sweet strawberries or spectacularly flavorful heirloom tomatoes. You'll likely never want to shop in a mainstream supermarket again.

Save some tummy room for the baked treats and peruse the arts and crafts; there may be something here of the handmade variety that will serve as a perfect souvenir of your West Coast visit.
