Vancouver's only First Nations restaurant is an utterly delightful art-lined little bistro on an unassuming strip of Broadway shops. It's worth the easy bus trip, though, for fresh-made indigenous-influenced dishes made with local ingredients. The juicy salmon 'n' bannock burger has been a staple here for years but more elaborate, feast-like options include game sausages and bison pot roast.
Be sure to order some bannock, a traditional flatbread introduced by Scottish settlers that's now a staple of First Nations BC dining. This is also a golden opportunity to sample some wines from two local First Nations wineries; ask the ever-friendly servers for recommendations.
