Shadow Lake Lodge

Banff National Park

This lodge offers 12 sweet timber cabins with gorgeous mountain views just a stone’s throw from Shadow Lake, 13.2km from the Red Earth Creek trailhead. Though it lacks the heritage kick of Skoki, Banff's other backcountry lodge, the cabins are a little roomier and more private, and come with propane heating, solar-powered lighting and access to hot-water showers.

Afternoon tea and three gourmet meals are included in the price, with beer and wine available for purchase separately. The lodge is open June to September; it reopens January to March for cross-country skiers. There's a two-night minimum stay.
