It's worth the 25km drive west from São Sebastião's cultural center to pretty Praia Toque-Toque Pequeno, where this open-air seafooder excels at both hospitality and gastronomy. First of all, half-portions are offered for 50% of the price – a Brazil first! – and choices like anything from the five-deep moqueca (seafood stew) menu or pesto risotto with basil and shrimp are full of wow.
The citronella candle-lit space is cozy and romantic – reserve ahead and plant yourself on one of the couches with a mango or kiwi caipirinha and settle in for awhile. The shore beckons for a leisurely post-meal walk on the beach.
