This excellent-value place in Meireles is just a couple of blocks from the beach, and has 27 spotless rooms (those upstairs are generally the brightest) and bright, colorful common areas. The French owner knows the city very well, speaks English and can point you in the right direction – whatever your needs. The fruit-heavy breakfast is substantial, but where's the Brie?
