The pick of the many new pousadas opening around town, the welcoming Vila Alter has a colorful little garden and tidy rooms. The whole feel here is one of intimacy and warmth, and the price is terrific value. It's far enough up the hill to avoid the evening noise, but it's just five minutes away on foot.
