This cozy little bar is one of the highlights of the growing oasis of drinking dens in the otherwise drab neighborhood of Praça da Bandeira. While the impressive list of cachaça (sugarcane alcohol) options will appeal to connoisseurs of Brazil’s national spirit, the main draw for everyone else will be the inventive snacks, sharing plates and cachaça-based cocktails.
The standout drink is the Aditivada, a caipirinha made with the addition of a sweet molasses-like cane syrup. The fruit shot batidas are also not to be missed. On Thursdays there are oysters, shipped up fresh from the southern Brazilian coast, and from time to time (check the Facebook page to confirm), it offers an all-you-can-eat selection of traditional Brazilian comfort-food dishes.
