A once stale, institutionalized choice behind the hallowed halls of the town's Methodist church has been given a major makeover by snazzy new owner Raquel, whose cleverness extends right down to the name – the phonetic spelling of how Brazilians pronounce 'chocolate.' Big, industrial-style bathrooms remain, but new beds and a jazzy lounge and kitchen with a wood-burning stove equal backpacker salvation.
