Malocas Jungle Lodge

Amazonas

Tranquility prevails at this simple place, located on a quiet bend of the Rio Preto da Eva and run completely on solar power. Rooms occupy a large circular maloca (traditional wood and thatch-roof structure) and are somewhat downtrodden, but the overall vibe is great. Small group tours (six or less) include hiking, canoeing and swimming in the area's many waterfalls.

It's run by a welcoming French-Brazilian couple.
