Who knew a thatched-roof cabin could be so chic? With high ceilings and elegant wood floors, huge picture windows, Mexican tiles and Guatemalan rugs, these lodgings are at once primitive and plush. The resort is professionally run and yet remains wonderfully intimate and has personalized check-in where guests can choose from a selection of handmade Belizean soaps.

The improved road means that the resort is now accessible from San Pedro by golf cart, although the water taxi remains the quickest way to arrive. Free pick-up on arrival and drop-off when checking out is included.
