Yogis, rejoice! Ak'bol, or 'Heart of the Village,' is a sweet retreat in a near-perfect location about 1 mile north of town on the North Island. The seven colorful cabañas have delightful details, such as handcrafted hardwood furniture and mosaic sinks with conch shell faucets. Enjoy plantation-style shutters that open to the sea and mosaic-tiled showers that are open to the sky.

Alternatively, save your cash and sleep in a hostel room with shared bathroom. Either way, you're free to enjoy the lush grounds and wonderful pool surrounded by greenery. The fabulous food at the breezy beach bar is worth a trip even if you're not staying here, as are the daily yoga classes in the studio surrounded by sea.
