The most luxurious of the South Caye private island resorts, Thatch Caye has 13 beautiful thatched-roof, air-conditioned cabañas and overwater bungalows built from local hardwoods and set on stilts, connected by paths winding through native mangroves. The resort features an excellent social-hub bar-restaurant (add BZ$300 per person for an all-inclusive package), the overwater Starfish Bar and a dazzling array of activities.
For all its luxury, Thatch has a strong eco philosophy with power generated from solar and wind sources, with a single diesel generator kept as backup. Wi-fi is available only in the common lounge. Nonguests can dine here with 24 hours' notice.
