Placencia

'Under the House' was Placencia's first genuine hostel, with an absolute beachfront location, no less. Owner Pandora has designed a functional 10-bed dorm beneath her stilt home, with timber floors, spring mattresses, individual fans, lockers and spotless bathrooms. It's a cozy space with full kitchen and small veranda. Rent a tent or hammock and camp for BZ$15.

The house is right on the beach at the southern end of the Sidewalk.
