The biggest place to stay on the island has 12 hardwood rooms with ocean views and private bathrooms in the main lodge and 12 smaller rooms with shared bathrooms in a smaller wing. Meals are served in a lovely thatched open-air dining room with views over the Caribbean to nearby Half Moon Caye.
The social heart of the lodge is the large common area which has a large map of the atoll painted on the floor and is filled with folk art and musical instruments from around the globe. There are stand-up paddleboards and kayaks for guest use, as well as a DVD collection for those quiet island evenings.
The new owner plans to construct a gift shop, spa, hot tub and tiki bar. Rooms will eventually have air-con, and prices may rise accordingly.
