Occupying the Glover's northeast cay, this little backpackers' island paradise is the perfect, affordable island getaway. The private 10-acre island has 16 cabins (overwater and on the beach), a basic dorm and eight private campgrounds. Most travelers take the weekly deal, which includes boat transfers from Sittee River, but nightly 'drop-in' rates are also available, starting from BZ$24 for camping.
There's an open-air thatched restaurant (breakfast/lunch/dinner BZ$24/24/36), or you can make your own meals – a few basic groceries plus fish, lobster and conch are available on the island, but the rest (including any alcohol) you must bring over yourself. Activities on the island include a PADI dive center, snorkeling, kayaking, catamarans and fishing, all at an additional cost. The free transfer leaves from Glover's Guest House in Sittee River at 9am every Sunday, returning the following Saturday, or you can charter a boat for BZ$700 one-way (up to four people) from Sittee River or Dangriga.
