Mon Manège à Toi

The Ardennes

Just west of Alle, a footbridge crosses Renoir-like water scenes to this punnily named village eating spot whose centrepiece is a large rocking horse. The terrace sits beside the waterside, with lovely woodland views across the river. The menu includes plenty of fish, including fair-priced local trout. Add €2 for potatoes.

From 2.30pm to 6.30pm outside peak season the kitchen is closed, but you can still get a drink.
