Auberge St-Remacle

The Ardennes

At first glance this pub-restaurant might not look like the most impressive of Stavelot's eating establishments, but service is friendlier than most and the unpretentious local food is consistently well cooked. There are additional lunchtime snacks (€6 to €9) and dinner options include fondues, raclette and pierrade (meat self-cooked on hot stones; €18.50 to €26.50).

The terrace continues over the road to a shaded area facing Stavelot's abbey.

Five simple but well-renovated rooms above the bar-restaurant are available (double/quad from €85/130).
