This nostalgically old-fashioned post hotel dates from 1768 and has been in the same family for eight generations. Attractively shaded by trees and an antique iron-and-glass awning, its restaurant terrace is a delight (despite traffic noise) and serves superb lunch salads, croquettes, trout and seafood dishes along with semi-gourmet dinner menus at fair prices.
Inside, the café section is a wood-panelled classic with time-warp toilets, though the main dining room's floral look is a little less appealing.
The hotel also has 12 rooms, some rather old-fashioned (single/double €65/99), others refurbished with designer bathrooms and jacuzzis (single/double/triple €85/125/135).
