Elisabeth Hotel

Northeast Belgium

A giant, enigmatic O sits high on the road as you approach this quiet, central 69-room hotel. Superb value for staying on most Friday and Sunday nights, it is a super-stylishly repurposed former hospital using artistic lighting, black walls and white furniture to create something that's really just a bit too sexy for a business hotel.

Even the smaller rooms are very comfortable (kettle and fridge included) but forking out €20 extra for an 'Executive' version pays dividends in extra space – possibly over dual levels. A swimming pool was under construction at the time of research. Reception is open 24 hours.
