This large 1890s mansion has extraordinarily grand public spaces, with breakfast (free if you book directly) served in a fabulous art nouveau dining room adjoining a partly gilded neo-rococo salon. Rooms are contrastingly basic, budget affairs, if sometimes pleasingly quirky and come with towels, soap and sink in even the small singles that share toilets.
