Partizan

Baku

Fun, full of character and not as kitschy as it might sound, this theatre-dining experience has waiters dressed as Soviet soldiers who demand a password (your booking) and might bark orders at guests or break into a gun-toting dance while an accordionist plays 'Kalinka'. The menu of mostly Russian and Azerbaijani favourites comes dressed as Pravda.

Partizan has no sign but is easy enough to spot, opposite the Lucky 13 Pub on the short lane that links Bəşir Səfiroğlu küç to Əlövsət Quliyev küç. Getting in without prebooking is hit-and-miss.
